Exploring new places can be a dauting thing to do, as well the feeling of excitement thrilling through your body. I love travelling and having travelbuddies is what makes travelling easier. So that's what I went for having when travelling to United States of America, or more concisely to San Fransisco this August.
Basically, this trip was actually my big sister's idea. Her name is Jennet. She has for a long time been wanting to go and visit USA, and what's not better when you know someone who lives in your travel destination who can also host you? Our host, Ying, is an old friend of Jennet (not old as in 'having excisted on this planet for many years', but old as in 'having known her for years'), whom she got to know with from her years at the University in Scotland, back in 2011-2012 (or something).

Going to San Fransisco didn't hit me until maybe a day after we landed in the country. For the record, we where travelling from Oslo, the capital in Norway.
It's a bit weird feeling when you are travelling in a far distance from home, but it didn't feel like that. Unlike me, my sister had big expectations about how San Fransisco is and America in general. Like you probably may have understood by now, she has never been to US before. Her expectations where based on what she had been watching on television and hearing in the news etc. Many of her expectations didn't fulfill, one of them was the extradionary high costs in that we quickly notieced and was beyond what she imagined, actually we both thought that America is very cheap. I mean, we later found out later that America is cheap in some areas, and cheaper in some other smaller cities than San Fransisco (SF). Because SF is a big city, the prices rise up. It's an attractive city for people to move to, as it is famous for it's tech, and headquarters to all the biggest technology companies, e.g. Apple, Ebay, Skype and PayPal (to mention some of them) are based in San Fransisco Bay Area.
I must say, this trip to US was one of the most adventurous trips I have been to. Travelling with someone like my sister, who has the courage to explore different aspects of the travelling destination, is what makes a trip so fun and exciting and further more, creating memories to last. I won't forget all the fun things we did, the food we tasted, all the money we spent on different attractions, and last but not least the good hosts that we were fortunate to have that made our trip so worth!
My next posts will be based on specific areas we went to in SF. Hope you will enjoy reading my blog! J xx :)
